In his book Bringing It All Back Home, Ian Clayton talks about the night Jimi Hendrix played Ilkley and how afterwards, a woman bumped into Hendrix in the queue for fish and chips at the original Harry Ramsden’s in Guisley. Last week at The Cat Club (a long playing record club, similar to a book group but with records instead) Ian introduced Stuart Hill to give an eye witness account of the event. There was also some Hendrix riffs played by ex-Saxon guitar hero Graham Oliver, who himself features in Bringing It All Back Home as a bone china enthusiast, rock star and inspiration for the movie Spinal Tap. There’s video footage of The Cat Club event above.
